The azalea belongs to a very popular group of flowers, with more than 800 species and thousands of varieties.
Grayanotoxin poison can be found in the leaves, flowers, nectarines and pollen of this plant. If any of these parts of the plant are ingested, it can cause heart problems, vomiting, dizziness and immense weakness.
The honey that is extracted from rhoddendron can also be toxic.
So, be careful with what you have in your garden. And, be careful with your pets, as they can become poisoned too.
